Element Air and the Suit of Swords

Air is refreshingly and at times, painfully clear–like when you breathe in that sharp 0° winter into your lungs.

Here’s what the clarity of AIR (and therefore Swords) means in a reading:
– You know what you need to do, as difficult as it may be
– You know who and what isn’t serving you, and you set boundaries, change your relationships, change your circumstances, or alter your thinking.

And here’s the fun part. Clarity is often found:
– When you’re exhausted and you realize something needs to change (always fun to reach low before up)
– When you recognize you’re not embracing the truth of your spirit, talents, and abilities
– When you’ve been taken advantage of by other people (or been the taker yourself)
– When you recognize that the relationships you’re in have been formed through mutual instability (trauma bonds).

When I read for others, a tarot card in the suit of Swords tells me that clarity is here (or on its windy way here!). And that difficult people and blocked energies are ready to become untangled and set free so that–Phew–you can breathe.

That is why they Air is represented by Swords. They are Ouch. They hurt. But they also protect. With the suit of Swords, you are asked to take your power, to breathe in your life force and to guard it with your life.
