How soon can we meet?

As soon as you book a session! I book out anywhere from several days to several weeks in advance.

How long of an appointment to book

If this is your first-ever Tarot reading and you just want to get a sense of how the Tarot works, you may want to book the forty-five-minute session.

If we have met before, or if you have two or more questions (or different areas of your life that you have questions about), you will probably want to book sixty minutes.

With all appointments, we can begin with a general reading, which focuses on the overall vibe and happenings in your present life, or you can choose to guide the reading with specific questions and concerns.

Individual Tarot appointments are available in the below increments:

$30 – $150
Email Readings
I offer written email readings, which are sent as .pdf file to your email inbox. These readings include photos of the cards along with extensive interpretations. You can choose to ask a question, or you can select a topic-based reading. All of my email readings can be seen and purchased:  https://www.rebeccaschoenecker.com/

$90
forty-five-minute reading
Receive a Tarot reading live through Zoom video or phone. With the forty-five-minute reading, there is usually time for two topics or questions to be explored. Photos of the cards are emailed to you following the session. If you choose to connect via Zoom, you will also receive a recording of the session.

$120
Sixty-minute reading
Receive a Tarot reading live through Zoom video or phone. With the sixty-minute reading, you normally have time for three questions or topics explored in depth. Photos of the cards are emailed to you following the session. If you choose to connect via Zoom, you will also receive a recording of the session.

The above times are general guidelines and do not guarantee what we will have time to do. Sometimes we can answer your questions relatively quickly, and sometimes it may take longer, depending on how complex the topic is.

How do I pay?

Individual clients use the online calendar and book appointments/pay in advance. If you book an appointment but do not show up, I retain the cost of the reading. Appointments are only refunded if they are cancelled/rescheduled 48 hours before the appointment time.

EVENTS

You can begin the process of booking event here: https://www.rebeccaschoenecker.com/book-an-event/

I love reading Tarot at events! Event readings are more informal than individual appointments; my goal, as always, is to provide compassionate Tarot readings that empower.

Tarot readings at events tend to be shorter. There’s usually time for me to read on one question per person, or look at general advice for the present. I can dress up in costume, bring decorations, and in general make your event fun and memorable. Event rates vary depending on location, traffic flow, etc, so please contact me directly (https://www.rebeccaschoenecker.com/book-an-event/) and I can send you a quote for your event

How to book an event

Please visit here to book an event: https://www.rebeccaschoenecker.com/book-an-event/, call me: 708-465-1064
or email: leyeweye {at} gmail {dot} com.

Normally, I require a minimum booking of 1.5 hours and the maximum length I will read for is 5 hours.

May children and youth receive Tarot readings?

Absolutely! When I read for minors, the Tarot readings are always aimed at remaining positive and fun, no matter what. My goal as a reader is always focused on empowering individuals regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender, background, or disposition.  Reading for youth at events is casual; however, for individual appointments, I do ask that anyone under the age of 18 notify me that they are a minor and come accompanied with an adult.

What event experience do you have?

I have experience reading Tarot at a variety of events, and for a variety of people. Some of my past events and clients include:

  • Pitchfork Music Festival
  • Soho House, Chicago
  • The Fun House, Stage 773
  • Dusek’s Punch House
  • Club Divine, Bodhi Spiritual Center
  • The Empty Bottle, Chicago
  • Bachelorette, Bachelor, Birthday, Prom parties
  • Company events
  • Holiday Parties
  • Music Concerts

Do you teach publicly or offer workshops?

Occasionally, yes! Stay tuned to my events link and my newsletters.

I also have experience teaching private workshops for formal and informal gatherings. If you would like me to teach a workshop, please contact me and let me know about the event and I can send you a quote and information about what I do. With Tarot workshops at events, I normally cover the nuts and bolts of the Tarot and teach participants how to do a basic Tarot reading. Advanced topics can be explored as well.

How do I pay for an event I book with you?

If you have hired me to read at an event, a non-refundable deposit is normally required, and full payment is due by the end of the event by cash, credit card, or check (written to: Rebecca Schoenecker).

THE READING

What to expect – How do your Tarot readings work?

When we meet, we begin by talking about what you hope to know as a result of the reading. If you are hesitant to share personal information, I respect that, but keep in mind that my goal is to be the best reader I can for you. And part of how I do that is through preparation and knowing how to help you. I will also share my philosophy as a reader; you should also read through my statement, FAQ, and general information before we meet to assure that my services are a good match for you and that you are prepared for the session.

After discussing the scope of your questions or inquiry, the session begins with a grounding, blessing, and intention setting. I will ask you to connect to your breath, your body, the earth, and your inner spirit. Then, I will formally give a blessing. The blessing is a prayer and intention that the reading help and serve you for the highest good.

After the blessing, I will begin to shuffle the cards while focusing on you, the querent. I will also ask you to put your energy into the cards. When the deck is cut and the cards are placed, I form a spread (card placement) that best works to answer your questions and this is officially when the Tarot reading and the time that you booked begins.

I often use my own decks for readings – but I have a variety of decks that I also incorporate.

Once placed, the cards’ imagery will provide us with a basis for discussion, but my intuition and spiritual practice brings an extra layer of perspective. I will share what the cards mean, what they say about your life, or how they answer your questions. I will also ask for you to share what your interpretations of the cards are. My style of reading is interactive, and I will encourage you to also share your insights. While I am intuitive and certainly lead the session, reading cards is like interpreting dreams. While the Tarot provides universal symbols (as dreams do), the significance of these symbols change from person to person. So, it’s important for you to tell me how the reading is resonating with you throughout the session.

Tarot cards have images that require interpretation and “sensing” (intuition). I cannot express enough the importance of being open and communicating with me during the reading. If I am not describing something exactly to the T, please tell me. Bear in mind that Tarot is a format that is metaphysical, not scientific.

A reading is something we do together, so please see yourself as an equal to me and be prepared to open up your heart and mind!

After we finish our Tarot session, you’ll receive a photo of the cards as well as a recording (if done through Zoom video or phone).

How do I prepare for my Tarot appointment?

I am excited to work with you! There are a number of things you can do to prepare. I recommend concentrating on what you hope to know as a result of the reading. Some people also like to write in a journal or meditate. You are not required to do anything before we meet, but it can be helpful to center your thoughts. During the session, you are encouraged to ask one or more question(s), based on the amount of time you have scheduled. If you don’t have a specific question, we can do a general reading, which will provide an overview of things that may be going on in your life.

Keep in mind that the more you prepare for the reading, the more you will generally get out of it. Coming to the session with written questions or reflections about your life makes the reading more intimate, memorable, and helpful for you.

Sometimes people enjoy taking notes or recording their reading. This helps you remember more – so I encourage it!

Can you predict the future?

I don’t believe that the future is set in stone, and that we have free will to shape our lives as we’d like. So, my Tarot readings help identify what is happening in your life presently and where that is leading you. It’s true that our lives our leading us in a certain direction, and this is what I can see.

Because the future is not yet fully formed, I approach looking into your future with great caution. It can be really damaging to tell you what will happen. Doing that undermines your potential to create the future you want; I won’t do that to you.

On the other hand, what I enjoy reading about are future decisions, goals, or things already moving forward. In this case, I am reading what’s already been set into motion for you or what you desire. This means I am reading something specific that’s rooted to your present situation and/or you, and where the energy surrounding you is leading. The difference in reading the future through this method is that I am reading on things that are linked to decisions and intentions you’ve already made or are making – versus cold reading your entire future – which I won’t do, because again, you create your future. Let me give you some examples of instances of where I would be happy to look into the future:

    • Your job interview next week; what to expect energetically from the people, environment, and how to approach the interview.
    • A potential move you are considering; ways it would be good, challenges you may face in your plans and/or transition.
    • A creative or professional project that is about to transpire or come to completion; how to prepare for the big day, and if there are any unknowns to watch out for.
    • Where your life is leading you overall, based on the decisions you’ve made, the innate talents you have, and the circumstances you’re in.

This is not a comprehensive list of questions, but I hope it gives you a sense of what type of future reading I do.

I will also say, that occasionally, I get a strong intuitive picture of your life purpose; or, how that manifests in your future. Certainly I trust these visions about your future and I will share them if they come up. Regardless of this, the future is yours for the making and I always stress that you are the creator of your life, not me.

Are you psychic?

It depends on how you define the word Psychic. One of my goals as a Tarot reader is to redefine the way that people think about this word. And so I am taking the first step by sharing my thoughts and approach here – read on!

I define “Psychic” to mean sensing something intuitively. It is not predicting, but sensing. Intuitions can lead us to predict what may happen, but the future is not cast in stone. As an intuitive, I sometimes see a picture, much like a movie in my minds’ eye. This is a clairvoyant image that shows me what’s happening with a situation or person. Sometimes I feel the emotions of what someone else is experiencing (clairsentience). I also keep a dream journal and find that many things I dream about come to pass, or predict the energy I may soon be dealing with. Sometimes the images I see about a person that I read for are direct, and sometimes they are metaphors; the same way a myth or story contains a message or warning. Sometimes I see colors, which evokes feelings. So, there’s a wide range of ways that I define the word psychic, as well as what I classify as psychic phenomena.

While I would hope that every Tarot reading would carry a clairvoyant image or psychic event, I can’t guarantee that anything additional will happen during your Tarot reading besides us looking at your cards. A Tarot reading IS an intuitive process and I have found this to be a powerful psychic language on its own. If you are looking for a person that works solely as a clairvoyant (which I do not), you could search for clairvoyant readers or you may even contact the Invision School for Psychics.

While I want to read for everyone, if you have the intention of meeting with a Psychic that will predict your future or describe your life in detail clairvoyantly, I am not the reader you should choose.

Also, you can help me be more intuitive during our reading! I have noticed that some people have a more open energy and I can more easily access intuitive images connecting to these folks. When people come to a reading with a defensive energy, or wanting to “test” my abilities, it is literally like I am trying to peer through an energetic brick wall. You can help me by opening your energy, and declaring your intention before meeting with me by saying internally that you are energetically open to the reading and allowing me to see within your auric field for the purpose of serving your higher self. It’s also helpful if you are open to using your intuition (everyone has intuition!) and interacting with me during your reading.

What questions can I ask?

You can ask me just about anything during your Tarot reading! People often want feedback on their love life, careers, families, social situations, or creative projects. Come with as many questions about your life as you can think of. Please keep in mind that I will not read about is your physical health. Spiritual health – yes! Make sure to read the above info about future predictions, as well as third party questions (Can you read about other people in my life?), which I have written more about below.

Can I ask about love? How do you answer this and other questions?

Love is a popular subject, so let me muse on this for a moment as an example of how I might answer the questions you have. Someone may ask “Should I stay or should I go,” with a romantic interest. Instead of telling you what to do (it’s your decision!), I will look at reasons you should stay as well as reasons you should go – leaving you with objective feedback to make the decision that’s best for you.
If you are single and hoping to meet someone, I will not focus on reading whom you are destined to be with. What if I see this person in your future, but then things get screwed up because your expectations became too high? That would really stink! Instead of filling you up with inflated expectations that could later bite you in the butt, I truthfully look at the energy you carry about love, and if it’s where it needs to be so that you attract the right person to you. So, what I would then look at would be:

  • What have your past obstacles with love been
  • What are your current obstacles with romantic love
  • What type of person should you be looking for
  • What type of person should you be staying away from

This is not a comprehensive list of love questions and ponderings, but I hope you can see how my reading style focuses on what you have the ability to manifest and control in all areas of your life. Our energy carries a lot of weight – and it is my goal to help you see the energy you are putting out there to make sure you are attracting what is in your highest potential for love, and in your life overall.

Can you read about other people in my life?

Yes, I can, but it also depends on why you are asking. And I do this with great caution.  I want to read for you about what YOU have the energy to control – and you can’t control how other people feel or what they will do much of the time. Additionally, what if I read for you about how someone feels, but their feelings change tomorrow or next week? It’s tricky business planning your life around other people.

If you are working through difficult or complex situations that involve other people, I will always focus first and foremost on how you’re involved and what is in your best interest to know about the situation. I will also look at the options you have to help get the outcome you want, or how to best shape your energy so that it benefits you as well as works well with the people surrounding you.

I will always approach reading about others in your life with great care. Mostly, if I think you are focused on something that is unhealthy for you, or that you are spying (is my Ex seeing someone else?), I may make the moral decision to not read on the subject. However, if there is someone in your life that you are concerned about or want to improve your relationship with, I would be happy to read about them as a way to help YOU improve your relationship with them. Above all else, my number one goal is helping you see what is in your ability to change or control and I will always bring the reading back to this.

Why should I get a Tarot reading?

There are many reasons people get Tarot readings. They can be really helpful if you want to examine your options, or take a closer look at the way different factors may be influencing you. If you are at a crossroads, a Tarot reading can help you identify the factors involved in your decisions. Sometimes people are just curious about Tarot – and that’s fine too!

A Tarot reading, while entertaining and a form of entertainment, can also be a serious thing. It’s a fine line that us Tarot readers walk! Life is full of up-swings and down-swings, and the Tarot often echoes whatever you are going through! Whatever you are experiencing, my approach will always be one of compassion, hope, and inspiration. While I am a reader of the cards, I am also a great listener. I love to hear your stories, and this is one reason I enjoy reading Tarot so much.

My readings are all about helping you get to where you want to be. If there is something or someone that is unhealthy for you, it may come up in the reading. I will be honest, but always focus on a loving and caring delivery of the messages within the reading so that you are led towards making the decision that is best for you. My Tarot readings will never tell you what to do, but rather help you see the pros and cons of your situation.

Individual appointments allow for a more in-depth look at your life. Event readings tend to be more informal and less detailed, as there is usually less time to focus in on specific situations. Whatever your motivation for getting a reading, Tarot is a meaningful thing to do!

When not to get a Tarot reading.

If you are going through a major life crisis, I would always recommend Counseling, Friends, Family, and Doctors be your primary supports. Tarot is a supplementary tool to help you see something from a different perspective, through visual images and an intuitive source (me). A Tarot reading will never tell you what to do or make a decision for you. It will not change your situation. You change your situation, and the cards help us see why you should change and how you can change. Tarot can help you know yourself better and see your life circumstances clearly so that you know how to move forward.

Tarot is kind of like an intuitive coaching session with images that reflect what you are experiencing, internally as well externally.

If you contact me and are in distress, I may refer you to seek out resources better aligned to assist you currently (this rarely happens, so if you are reading this and are worried I might turn you away, please don’t worry!).
While I hope to be a good fit for everyone, I realize that sometimes I am not. Please do not contact me for a Tarot reading if you want me to predict the future or if you want to “test” my intuitive abilities. While a healthy amount of skepticism is good with all of this kind of stuff, if you come to the reading with the intention of receiving an intense psychic experience (who you will marry, how many kids you’ll have, winning lottery numbers, etc.), you will be disappointed, and I would feel really bad about that. And I really hate it when people feel bad!

Additionally, if we meet and you are unwilling to talk about what is happening in your life or even tell me what your questions are, it would be really tough to give you a good reading. Would you go to a car mechanic or doctor and expect them to help you without telling them what you think might be wrong? Come to the reading ready to tell me what I can help you with!

Advice Given

  • While I do communicate via text, email, and phone, I will not always respond immediately. I’m a one-woman operation, so give me a day or two to get back to you. If I don’t pick up the phone, please leave a message. I am often not able to answer the phone due to meeting with clients and traveling between locations. I do try and communicate as quickly as I can.
  • I reserve the right to decline communications and appointments if inquiries are rude, extensive or inappropriate.
  • I reserve the right to decline to read for clients, whether new or returning, for any reason whatsoever.
  • I reserve the right to decline reading on questions I cannot answer. More information is stated about this in the “When not to get a Tarot reading” section and overall FAQ.
  • I reserve the right to end readings when there is a lack of respect. Pushing or demanding answers to subjects that I am against reading about is one way that can happen. If that happens, you will be billed only for the time we have spent together.
